Warrenville, Illinois, March, 1999 — Power Trends, Inc. has just unveiled the PT3320 series, its new line of 30 Watt, fully isolated, DC/DC converters. The PT3320 series is the first 30W DC/DC converter to feature an open frame 19-pin SIP housing with the ability to mount the converter either vertically or horizontally. By mounting the converter vertically, the PT3320 occupies less than 50% of the PC board space of industry standard quarter-bricks. With 1500 VDC isolation, 85% efficiency, and an input voltage range of 36-75V, the PT3320 series is easily integrated into a multitude of 48V distributed power applications. The PT3320 series is also available in a low profile surface mount package. The PT3320 series boasts many user-friendly features such as an inhibit function and differential remote sense that automatically compensates for any voltage drop from the converter to the load. Other features include current limit, short circuit and over-temperature protection. The PT3320 series also offers output voltages from 2V to 15V with the ability to adjust the nominal output voltage from 90 to 110% with a single external resistor. The PT3320 series meets or exceeds UL1950 and EN60950 specifications. In OEM quantities (1,000 units), the price of the PT3320 series is $35.50. Samples are available now. Included in this series is the PT3340 with an input voltage range of 18V to 60V, which includes all the same features as the PT3320. Power Trends designs and manufactures a full line of Integrated Switching Regulators and DC to DC Converters developed from a unique high-frequency design that has won national recognition for the Company as a power supply innovator.
