Warrenville, IL September, 1998 -- Power Trends, Inc. has just introduced a new series of dual output, Integrated Switching Regulators (ISRs) designed to power the latest generation of dual voltage DSPs, including Texas Instrument’s C6000 series. Designated the PT6920 series, these dual 25 watt power modules are available with 3.3V/6A and 2.5V/2.2A fixed output voltages. The second output can also be selected for 1.8V to accommodate the next generation of DSP chips. In addition, both output voltages are independently adjustable with an external resistor. The second output voltage can be adjusted as low as 1.2V. The 5V input voltage of the PT6920 series makes it easy for designers to incorporate into their existing power systems.

The PT6920 series also boasts internal sequencing that meets the latest requirements of the TI C6000 series for voltage ramp-up and ramp-down. Other features of the PT6920 series include remote sense for both outputs, standby, and over-temperature protection.

Housed in a 23 pin SIP package, the PT6920 series is available in vertical through-hole (2.7"x0.6"x1") and horizontal through-hole and surface-mount configurations (2.7"x1.4"x0.6"). In OEM quantities (1,000 units), the price of the PT6920 series is $24.20. Samples are available now.
