Warrenville, IL -- Power Trends, Inc. has just introduced a new series of +5V to -2V/6A, Integrated Switching Regulators (ISRs) designed to power the latest GaAs and ECL ICs. Designated the PT6900 series, these 12 watt power modules are available with either -2.0V/6A or -5.2V/2.5A fixed output voltages. The -2.0V output (PT6901) can be used to power GaAs IC's such as those used in gigabit optical transceivers, multiplexers and de-multiplexers, and custom ASICs. The -5.2V output (PT6902) can be used to power ECL logic and GaAs ICs. The output voltage is also adjustable by adding an external resistor. The +5V input voltage makes it easy for designers to incorporate these new ICs in existing power architectures. The PT6900 is housed in a 23 pin SIP package and is available in vertical through-hole (2.7"x0.6"x1") and horizontal through-hole and surface-mount configurations (2.7"x1.4"x0.6"). In OEM quantities (1,000 units), the price for the PT6900 is $24.20. Samples are available now. Power Trends designs and manufactures a full line of Integrated Switching Regulators and DC to DC Converters developed from a unique high-frequency design that has won national recognition for the Company as a power supply innovator. Power Trends' products are sold through a world-wide network of sales representatives and distributors.
