POWER TRENDS INTRODUCES
3-7 WATT DC/DC CONVERTERS

Batavia, IL -- Power Trends, Inc. has just introduced a new series of 3 to 7 watt DC to DC converters. The PT4200 series power modules operate from input voltages of 38V to 72V and offer 1,500V input-output isolation. Four output voltages are available in the PT4200 series; 2V/1.5A (PT4201), 3.3V/1.5A (PT4202), 5V/1.2A (PT4203), and 12V/0.6A (PT4204). These board-mounted power modules are housed in a low-profile (0.315”/8mm), over-molded, component like, 18-pin DIP packages with a choice of through-hole (suffix A) or surface-mount (suffix C) pin configurations. The PT4200 series is pin-compatible with Ericsson’s MacroDensä line of DC to DC converters.

The full-featured PT4200 series includes output voltage adjustment, on/off control, and low output ripple. The utilization of thick film technology along with a high degree of silicon integration have produced MTBFs in excess of 3.5 million hours. The high switching frequency of 485 kHz allows the use of much smaller inductive and capacitive components, keeping the overall package small and producing low EMI/RFI emissions. The PT4200 series easily passes applicable FCC, VDE, and CISPR specs.

The PT4200 series power modules are particularly suited for telecom and datacom applications or anywhere 48V or 60V distributed power systems are used. Prices are $21.80 each in OEM quantities (1,000 units). Samples are available from stock.
